Hutchinson Smiley Limited requires a skilled systems professional with
strong quality assurance and systems testing experience to assist one of
our clients on a contract basis.
This assignment will begin in early to mid August 200 and will have a
minimum duration of 7 months, renewable.
The selected consultant will be responsible for the following activities
and deliverables:
· Find and document defects in software quality
· Assess software quality
· Prove the validity of the assumptions made in design and
requirement specifications through concrete demonstrations
· Validate the software product functions as designed
· Validate that the requirements have been implemented appropriately
Deliverables:
The Program-Test Specialist shall be responsible for the:
· Assist the Test Lead in the development of the project Test
Strategy and Test Plan
· Identification of optimal implementation approaches for test
objectives and requirements
· Implementation of tests
· Preparation for test execution
· Verification of test execution
· Logging of testing outcomes
· Analysis and recovery from execution errors
· Other duties as required.
Mandatory Skills & Experience:
Must have proven experience in planning and organizing testing efforts
for large systems in GUI and non GUI environments, including the
execution of systems integration tests and specialized tests, e.g.
stress tests, etc;
Intermediate to senior knowledge of Java;
Intermediate to senior knowledge of Weblogic;
Experience in database design concepts
Intermediate to senior knowledge of Oracle;
Knowledge and understanding of testing methodologies such as unit testing
Experience in the use of automated test tools and version control
systems on one or more platforms eg..Rational Purify, Quantify and Pure
Coverage);
Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills; verbal
and written communication skills; interpersonal and negotiation skills;
A team player with a track record for meeting strict deadlines;
Knowledge of Government standards and I&IT trends would be a definite asset.
Good knowledge and experience in software testing approaches and techniques
Good diagnostic and problem-solving skills
Good knowledge of technology and network infrastructures
