You assume they are homosexual. Most of them have talked about their
children, so they've at least be heterosexual at times
You aren;t being a little presumptive?

Effeminate or effusive males are not necessarily homosexual. It is
perhaps a good generalization but not true in all cases.
On the other hand, if you met my homosexual friends you would most
likely assume they are heterosexual.

There are several straight interior designers on Changing Rooms.
The one who appears to be most effeminate is actually straight .

I realise this. I'm not sure why it matters

programmes...talk about stereotyping

errrrrrr homosexual men can father children... just as lesbians can give
birth Kerry....
Well they do 'mince about' and awful lot to give the impression... yeah it
might presumptive but prove me wrong.

I realise this Alan... however there seems to be a tendency in nz
programming to let us assume they are...

I know there are some gorgeous gay men out there... and i've always said all
the good guys are either taken or gay LOL... i'm talking about the obviously
effeminate guys. Is it possible that in the eyes of the programmers the
macho man style as an interior designer just wouldn't was because we expect
to see effeminate men instead?
I'm still trying to think of one television show that doesn't have one that
minces about.... not that i can i guess cos those shows irritate the crap
out of me

It's not only gays who take care over their appearance so that is irrelevant
really.... as for the NZ culture.... no i personally don't see taking care
in your appearance as being effeminate.
I'm not stereotyping ..just asking something that occurred to me. Are u gay
and offended? LOL

No, just joining the discussion.
Its hard not to say that a particular piece of fabric looks gorgeous in a
non-effeminate way, when talking to other furnishing afficionados
I see butch girls that fix their own bikes n cars too.
Some of them might even have effeminate boyfriends
Its a mixed up world like the Ray Davies song said.
