I am not a Socialist personally, but as with the Greens and Libertarians, I like many of their ideas. Here's some information should you be interested:

Hate Bush?
Against the War?
Want to Fight Back?

Why You Should Be a Socialist ******************************
Come to the International Socialist Organization's first meeting of the semester.
Thursday, September 4th 8PM Lerner Hall, Room E477

Around the world the gap between rich and poor has grown wider than ever. The richest one percent owns 40 percent of the planet's wealth,
while 1.2 billion people live on less than a dollar a day.

In Bush's America, ordinary people continue to work harder for less,
while CEOs rake in multi-million dollar bonuses while firing more workers than at any time since the Great Depression. Our budgets are being slashed, while $1 billion a week is spent on occupying the people of Iraq!

This is capitalism: a system which puts the profits and privileges of the few above the basic needs of the rest. It needs violence and racism to protect these interestspolice repression at home, and war abroad.

We think that a different kind of world is possible- based on the struggle of ordinary people from below. In February and March millions marched around the world to oppose Bushs war. These struggles showed the way!

Come to a meeting about how we can build the movement against war and occupation abroad; poverty and repression at home; and ultimately a movement for a different kind of society, based on human need, not corporate greed!!

However, everything I've seen about socialism necessitates a forced equity of resources - and a group of either elected or appointed administrators to manage the system, people given a degree of power that "normal" citizens can't have. That power alone invites greed, corruption, inefficiency, and mismanagement.

Just a few years ago, the talk was about how ordinary people were able to make more for working less (dot commers for instance). Is this an issue with Bush, or with capitalism? The capitalist system has been in place regardless of Republican or Democratic Presidents. Their goals are supposedly the same, to "stimulate" the capitalist economy. They sometimes disagree over how this should be done. But if the issue is capitalism, then it doesn't really matter whether it's "Bush's America" or "Gore's America"
or anyone's America. Capitalism is capitalism. There are many societies throughout history where ordinary people have worked hard and not only achieved less than before, they have achieved nothing - period. As for budgets being slashed, the numbers don't add up. The federal government will spend more this fiscal year than ever before.

The capitalist system, in fact, may counter the ideas of violence and racism. In capitalism, a person can use the free market to determine who or what he is beyond class or race. He can offer goods and services that objectively help others and fulfill needs, regardless of his race. He can choose a profession that best suits his abilities and preferences. He can use currency, and not violence, to procure life's needs and wants.

There are many fine arguments against socialism. Unfortunately, since you are a fanatical sock puppet, you make none of them. What a shame.

This sock puppet called "rms1" calls everyone else a sock puppet when he does not agree with them. Liberals will always try to tell bigger and bigger lies to try to cover the truth with their twisted logic that is built on lies.

Democrats and Republicans both a full of Conservative Socialists.

Republicans are generally more heavy-handed.(Blood-thirsty)

Both have destroyed families through Socio-legislation.

Parents are dumped onto the governments nursing home doorsteps.

People expect the government to do everything for them.
