Take a look at the Avanti equivalent. same if not better frame an better components for the same bucks
The perigree is much more a hybrid isnt it, so your riding style i going to choose between the 2, more than anythin
personally I'd go the sport, but then again that suits my riding styl (but then again I have a shed with nine bikes so my style changes, o perhaps im above 'style'

Just wondering if anyone here has one of these? I'm after a 'hybrid' such as this bike.

The Giant Perigee looks good too. Anyone ridden both? I wanted an informed opinion rather than a bike shop opinion - which is of course skewed towards whatever they sell!

Thanks
Stuart Sydney

Oops. I meant the Sport not the Comp.

9 bikes!
Not a bad effort.
I lived in a share flat when I was at uni and we had 16 bikes between 2 of us. A couple of training bikes each, a 'good' race bike, and a pub bike.
Plus about 30 sets of wheels!

The Avanti you mean I guess is the Avanti Blade Comp? Looks good actually. I owned an Avanti Barracuda which was stolen 2 weeks ago... first time I have ever had a bike nicked! Bloody annoying. Since I bought mine the Barracuda has become more and more 'serious' - disk brakes and all now. I didn't want a mtb though, too slow on the road.

What do you mean the Perigee is 'more of a hybrid' - leaning in which direction do you think?

Hey, i gotta Barracuda (no. its not yours!

Orange and approx 6-7 years old no
commute on it every day. love it. ridden it off road and just had a ful service on it. still as sweet as 6-7 years ag
put rigid forks on, single (44) chainring, Conti travel contacts an rack pannier
disc brake on front and it will be truly in the 'zone

I think the Avanti Blade frame is the same as the Specialized Sirrus The Sirrus sport model is probably better than the Blade Sport (althoug at $200 RRP cost), I think for the price the Blade Comp is good valu with a 105 derailer. I would've bought the Blade Comp had I not found discounted '03 Specialized Sport
Can't tell you much about the Perigee, although I've heard it is a bi heavier than the Blade/Sirrus. However it potentially has bette fittings than it's equivalent
Overrall a good bike for road riding, pretty fast, light an comfortable
